The Onion AV Club’s best albums of 2010 →1 min read Published by Lee Reamsnyder Permalink
I love the AV Club’s top album listing (maybe) completely for their method of tallying votes. As they explain:
We ask 16 writers who regularly contribute record reviews to the site to disperse 100 points each over no more than 15 albums. No album can receive more than 15 points or less than one point from any given contributor.
That scoring method makes sure that the expected albums make the list while also letting an opinionated writer or two leave a mark. For example, two of their writers really like Fall Out Boy, so their albums have made the Best Of list for the past two years.
They also post the full ballots of each writer with commentary.
For the record, I’ve listened to Big Boi’s album more than anything else this year.
But that Kanye album? Wow. There’s nothing quite like it.
