Andrew Lapin at NPR’s Monkey See blog discusses why we’re unlikely to see Dave Chappelle in the spotlight again:

In other words, the problem isn’t that Chappelle "went crazy". It’s that we did. As much as I wish this weren’t true, I can’t blame the man for withdrawing from the public. He thinks his core fanbase consists of rowdy, obnoxious jerks, because those are the people he keeps running into.

Hey, Dave! If you wanted to throw another block party, you could do totally do it, say, at my house. I got some beer and maybe some pretzels and everything.
